Sleazy, punky, feisty, dirty
rock 'n' roll, The Fairies Band are four
upfront, sassy girls fronting this 7 piece clan with their distinctive vocals.
And alongside them are three seriously gorgeous boys who bash through some
massive guitar riffs, heavy bass lines and rock-steady beats…….
“The first time a group has induced pop rapture in too, too long” says Drowned in Sound
“You Guys remind me of early Suzy, X-ray Spex, Sex Pistols, a slightly smutty version of the Go-Go’s, and just yourselves! Go SMACK THEM AWAKE!......” Bill Kates, XM Radio NYC
"The Fairies Band launch a full scale garage rock assault on our ears. At about 8 strong, the 4 front women all sporting hot pants and fairy wings scream and shriek and then the rebel rousing sirens prowl around the stage spouting glam rock n roll that bounces from T-Rex to Blondie and doused in Guns n Roses goodness." South London Press
Fresh from supporting The Horrors, The Enemy, Dirty Pretty Things and Nick Oliveri and the Mondo Generator, a stream of packed gigs for the main part of 2007 and a write up in the ‘Msoundz Ones to Watch’ section of N.M.E The Fairies Band have exciting prospects. January started with a bang with a live interview on New York City’s XM Radio (3 Million subscribers) and this summer The Fairies Band have two 7” EPs out on independent labels Pushing Pussy Records and Filthy Little Angels (LA & London), European gigs booked up and have been busy gigging around the UK.
The band have been playing together for two years and in that time have included a UK tour including Manchester’s in the City and completed two tours of New York City. While in NYC the band were interviewed on XM Radio and played some of the cities top nights including BP Fallon & Alan McGee's Death Disco.
A previous single release on vinyl on Filthy Little Angels ensured radio play and recognition amongst DJ's nation wide.
The Fairies songs are packed with attitude. This attitude is matched on stage during unpredictable live performances from this unique line up.
